Event Concept joins 10:10 Carbon Emissions Project

Production Company Event Concept has become a member of a new ambitious project, 10:10; which aims to cut the UK's carbon emissions by 10% in 2010. 10:10 was officially announced on the 1 September at a unique public event which took place in the Tate Modern's Turbine Hall. Working with Unity, Event Concept provided Audio/Visual elements as well as having the task of hanging large 8m x 3m banners inside the hall. The event was a real eye catcher but was also in keeping with the environmental ethos of the 10:10 campaign.

The Tate Modern was the perfect venue for the kick-off to this campaign, not only being extremely popular public destination but its previous life as a power station churning out masses of greenhouse gases provided a very apt backdrop.  Attracting over 5,000 pledges within the first few hours the campaign aims to unite every sector of society, from individuals to massive organisations - all working together to make small changes, which will have a big overall effect.

Event Concept are delighted to have become a member of the scheme; Managing Director Mark Beaver commented: ‘The events industry has become a very wasteful business, wherever possible we try to re-use and recycle in order to reduce the amount of waste we create.  Along with our on-going work towards the BS8901 Standard, the 10:10 project will help inspire new ways in which we can make our company more environmentally friendly.'
