Simply Flowers

A little bit of the Highlands came to Somerset House in late June, when Visit Scotland hosted their annual partners summer party in the Seamen’s Hall and on the River Terrace.

It was a gorgeous balmy evening and guests were treated to a magnificent array of treats.  Simply Flowers dressed and decorated food stations for seafood, a barbecue, desserts and cheese, all using Scottish produce.  Masses of fresh herbs, lavender, heather and tartan runners set the scene.

We also created large urn displays in an array of Scottish blues using delphiniums, hydrangea, lavender roses and thistles.  One display took centre stage in the middle of the Seamen’s Hall, while the other two “floated” on clear perspex plinths on the Terrace.

Silver lanterns and twinkling tealights completed the scene, and the party went on well into the perfect summer night.
