Celebrity Christmas Concert at Central Hall Westminster
Britain’s Got Talent winner and opera star, Paul Potts, was the headline act at the Christmas Concert hosted by Central Hall Westminster on behalf of Parkinson’s UK, the support and research charity, last Friday night.
For an exclusive number of VIP guests, invited by the venue’s Management, the evening started early with a reception party to recognize its client’s support in 2011.
Paul treated the 1,500-strong audience to outstanding performances of Nessun Dorma and the Louis Armstrong classic What a Wonderful World. The festive event also included a mix of Christmas Carols, classic Christmas songs and readings from actress and Parkinson’s UK President Jane Asher and TV personality Michael Aspel.
The team at Central Hall Westminster hosted an exclusive pre-concert reception with canapés and drinks to ‘thank’ their best clients. After the music event, everyone was invited for post-show mulled wine and mince pies in the Halls.
Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster commented: “The evening was fantastic, there was a lovely mix of Christmas Spirit, quality entertainment and a huge amount of emotion in connection with the Parkinson’s UK charity - a truly wonderful event to start the Christmas season.”
Clare Chater, Head of Events at Parkinson’s UK, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported Parkinson’s UK by attending our Christmas Concert.
“The funds raised from the concert will enable the charity to continue with its vital research work to find a cure, and help improve the lives of the 120,000 people in the UK who are living with Parkinson’s.”
Central Hall Westminster is developing a concert portfolio and has already held events for an eclectic mix of entertainers including Kanye West, Laura Marling, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Houses of Parliament Choir!
