MADAME TUSSAUDS LONDON ANNOUNCES NEW FACES FOR 2012
2012 is set to be a momentous year in the capital with the Olympic and Paralympics Games and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Madame Tussauds London is to mark the occasions by unveiling a new figure of Her Majesty The Queen and Olympic hopeful Tom Daley. The Queen’s new wax figure will replace her current one, created in 1996 and it will be the 23rd figure of the Queen; she was first featured as a toddler back in the 1930’s. Tom Daley will dive into the Sports Zone of Tussauds with a dramatic action figure in February. Suspended at a height it will capture him in mid-dive as he soars from the diving board towards the water.
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge will join the venue’s Royal line up in April next year, just in time to celebrate the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Other new faces include Taylor Lautner – joining his co-star, British actor Robert Pattinson, in the A-List Party Room in January. The American heartthrob was one of the most requested personalities in 2011. March will see a new addition to the Bollywood area of the attraction.
The new figures provide a wonderful addition to the renowned faces already housed at the world famous attraction and party venue. Guests attending events at Madame Tussauds London during and after the 2012 celebrations will be able to commemorate the year posing alongside their favourite new figures.
