National Treasure at the Science Museum

An evening of mystery and discovery awaits guests in the search for the National Treasure hidden deep inside the heart of the Science Museum throughout December 2010.

As the main doors to the Museum are locked and the galleries drift into Darkness, the hunt for the National Treasure begins. An ancient treasure map leads the way into the dimly lit back street and secluded entrance where a mysterious Museum Curator will question guests before pointing them towards the heart of the Museum.

The quest will continue to the Flight Gallery where drinks will be served beneath Amy Johnson’s ‘Gipsy Moth’, or Alcock and Brown’s ‘Vicker’s Vimy’- the first aeroplane to cross the Atlantic – and other icons of aviation history. Amy Johnson will regale guests with the tale of her brave journey as the first woman ever to fly solo to Australia before guiding them on their way in their search for the National Treasure.

Hidden behind the galleries lies the ancient Hall of Maps - an explorer’s myth that holds the key to the Lost Gallery and the National Treasure. A sliding bookcase reveals the secret entrance to an ancient vault adorned with stone statues, an 8 meter stone effect bar and gargoyle heads.

At the rear of the vault, slightly hidden from view, flanked by tall pillars and shrouded in draping will lie the entrance to the Temple of Gold and the National Treasure. This will become the main dining area catering for up to 500 guests, washed in gold light and featuring golden artefacts displayed on plinths. After dinner our nightclub discotheque will spring to life in the ancient vault allowing guests to dance away to the twilight hours.
