It's all happening on your doorstep

2008 has been an exciting and eventful year at The Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Centre (RHH). As well as signing numerous new exhibitions and events, the Halls have also hosted an array of high profile clients. The Lawrence Hall saw a full turnout for The Prince of Wales' May Day Summit in May where, using the latest technology, HRH the Prince of Wales and PM Gordon Brown spoke via video satellite. Organised by Business in the Community and the Carbon Trust, the conference discussed the issue of climate change and was transmitted simultaneously to nine other locations in the UK.

Conservative Party leader David Cameron followed suit in June, when he gave a speech at the Halls on the issue of tackling climate change. The Halls have built a strong reputation as a leading medium-sized venue in central London and holds great appeal for such events. When BBC Question Time was looking for a venue to stage the London mayoral pre-election show, when the past and present London mayors Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson battled it out before a studio audience, the RHH stood out because it is minutes from Parliament and Buckingham Palace and the unique and iconic venue suited the event perfectly.

More recently, Health Minister Lord Darzi was at the Lawrence Hall to give an overview on the launch of High Quality Care for All - the final report of the NHS Next Stage Review. There are still busy times ahead, but the Halls look forward to the coming months and hosting new shows such as the TNT Winter Travel Show, the Work Worldwide Expo and the Promotional Marketing Exhibition.
