Have a Wicked Day at the Royal Horticultural Halls & Conference Centre

13/10/08

Wicked Day is an international event, taking places in eight cities around the world including New York, Tokyo, Melbourne and Stuttgart. This will be the third event in the UK and the festivities will raise money for the horticultural charity, Thrive which offers gardening therapy to make a real difference to the lives of people with a disability.

Luke Shires, production associate at Michael McCabe Productions (MMP) was sold on the Halls at the first viewing: "The location in Victoria is fantastic as it's where Wicked has been based for the past two years.  This tied in with the fact that the event supports and encourages green living, whether that be recycling or gardening, made the Halls a perfect location."

Luke continues: "In the Lindley Hall everything can be under one roof, so everyone can wander around and see what is on offer more easily. Given that it a beautiful building, it also helps that it is so accessible. "

Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for the day, which will feature a host of events including competitions, performances, face-painting, workshops and fancy dress. All proceeds will be donated to Thrive's Battersea Park Garden project.
