Press Release

End of an Era

11/07/07

Charlotte Reeves, Chairman of Unique Venues of London and Director of Corporate Relations at Somerset House is to stand down from both positions at the end of July to pursue an exciting new opportunity.

During her 10 year involvement in UVL representing Kensington Palace State Apartments and latterly Somerset House, Reeves was appointed Vice Chairman in 2002. Following the retirement in 2005 of the Chairman and founder of UVL, Ian Fraser, Reeves was the natural successor for the position and unanimously appointed as Chairman in 2006 by the 62 member venues.
Reeves leaves UVL in a strong position as a leading industry consortium after overseeing, this year alone, the launch of the new website, new brochure, a new visual brand and increased industry trade show presence.

Commencing as Commercial Director of Lavender Green Ltd in August 2007, Reeves will concentrate on the pursuit of new business opportunities, the strategic development of the company and the strengthening of the company’s brand.

On her departure Reeves said:  “I feel privileged to have been so closely involved in the growth and development of UVL over the last decade and am proud to have worked with so many of London’s finest venues. With the successful development of UVL’s brand, the organisation has now established its strongest ever market presence. I wish UVL every success and am confident it will continue to go from strength to strength under the guidance of the Acting Chairman and the Council of Management”.

Lisa Hatswell, Vice Chairman of Unique Venues of London and Corporate Sales Manager, British Airways London Eye, Madame Tussauds London (within the Merlin Entertainments Group) will now take the role of Acting Chairman supported by Moya Maxwell, Head of Commercial Programming, The Royal Opera House as Acting Vice Chair until the end of the year. At the January 2008 AGM elections, these positions will be open to all members.
