Spend Summer with Unique Venues of London
01/05/06
Many of the 62 UVL members have beautiful and unique outdoor spaces that can be used to hold anything from BBQ's to Alfresco parties. Venues which offer outdoor event space include; Kew Gardens, Syon Park, Hampton Court Palace, The Museum of Garden History and Somerset House which offers the only fountain court in London, the stunning Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, available for bespoke outdoor marquee events from Spring to Autumn.
One member in particular recently announced its exciting summer events opportunity; the Millennium Courtyard at Southwark Cathedral which overlooks the Thames and City. This unique venue provides an historic and memorable location for summer events and during June and July this year, a marquee will be erected in the courtyard that will be available for exclusive hire during the evenings.
Another venue looking to expand its venue choice for summer events is the Museum of London. Due to open in 2009, the City Garden will be available to hire for BBQ's and summer parties, this is in addition to its purpose built auditorium, due to open in 2008, which will offer a world class gallery for fine dining and receptions.
Other venues that offer stunning outdoor event space include the Victoria and Albert Museum with the John Madejski Garden, which is proving to be very popular for summer cocktail parties and pre dinner drinks receptions, and the Serpentine Gallery. Over the past six years the Serpentine Gallery has commissioned a different architect to design a summer pavilion to stand on the East Lawn from July to September. This has proven to be very popular and this year's design is guaranteed to be just as spectacular.
Commenting on UVL's variety of summer venue offering, Charlotte Reeves, Chairman of UVL and Director of Corporate Relations at Somerset House said: "In the run up to the summer we really want to highlight our venues that offer unique outdoor spaces which will really make your party stand out from the rest. As the days get longer we look forward to receiving more enquiries for summer parties."
