Unique Venues of London (UVL) hosted a client party on the 2nd October to celebrate the association's success and to thank its numerous clients. The lavish party, held at Middle Temple Hall was a great opportunity for event agencies, corporate clients and the trade press to preview the offerings of the 63 UVL venues ranging from the small and intimate venue like The Fan Museum and The Wallace Collection to the grandest of venues like the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum.
With Champagne, an amazing selection of canapés, a seafood bar and live entertainment, the UVL Client Party was a fantastic opportunity for clients to get a feel for UVL, within the impressive surroundings of Middle Temple Hall.
UVL is a collection of the most select group of magnificent and unusual venues in London, reflecting the spirit, tradition and cosmopolitan nature of the city. Middle Temple Hall, one of the finest examples of an Elizabethan Hall, is spanned by a magnificent double hammer beam roof carved from the oak of Windsor Forest and has remained unaltered from when it was completed in 1573. The first performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is reputed to have taken place in the hall in 1602.
Each UVL member was represented at the informal evening, culminating in a unique snap shot of London's diverse venue scene. Charlotte Reeves, Chairman of UVL and Director of Corporate Relations at Somerset House said: "The event was a fantastic opportunity for guests to preview the offerings of the 63 magnificent and unusual UVL venues all under one roof. The party will continue to be a fixture in the annual events calendar, due to its popularity and strong reputation the organisation has acquired."
Colin Davidson, Director of Catering and Marketing at Middle Temple Hall added: "Once again the UVL party has bought together the finest venues in London and we were honoured to host the party this year."
One of UVL's most unusual venues, Janet Broadhurst, Events Coordinator at The Foundling Museum said: "Being part of UVL allows us to showcase our venue more widely and to high quality buyers including Ernst & Young and The Royal Bank of Scotland who were at this year's event."
Further glamour was added to the event with the support of other industry specialists; Crown Society Special Event Caterers showcased their abilities by managing the catering requirement. Daniel Clifford, Chef Patron of Midsummer House in Cambridgeshire, who holds 2 Michelin Stars and is one of Britain's finest chefs, worked with Crown Society to design a menu especially for the event. Daniel's creativity and innovation led to Midsummer House, part of the Crown Group of Companies, being voted "Best Restaurant Outside London" by Tatler, Harpers & Queen and Square Meal.
White Light and Fisher Productions provided the event with lighting; Lavenders Blue supplied the floral design; and entertainment was provided by Sternberg Clarke and Prelude.
