Situated in the heart of Theatreland yet far from the crowds, the RCJ has built a considerable reputation for hosting some of the capital's finest events over the years.

The building is a Victorian interpretation of thirteenth Century Gothic architecture. Imposing Portland stonework, beautiful mosaic marble floors, stunning stained glass windows, elaborate carvings and oak wood panelling can be found throughout the many, many corridors of the building.

The walls of the magnificent Great Hall are lined with a fabulous collection of portraits, which include works by Wright, Lawrence and Shee and portray past Lord Chancellors and keepers of the Great Seal.

The building also houses the Costume Display Gallery which celebrates the evolution of legal costumes throughout history as well as the Painted Room and Bear Garden which Queen Victoria allegedly named after a bear pit which reminded her Highness of the crowds of litigants and lawyers there.

The RCJ transforms into an inspirational events space by night. There are 3 events spaces available to hire for between 50 and 1000 guests and the RCJ events team can recommend a wide range of catering, lighting, production and entertainment solutions to ensure that your event is tailored to your guests.
