Wallace Collection - Head of Events

The Development and Marketing Department’s key purpose is to increase the generation of income in order to enable the Collection to achieve its principal aims and to present it to the external world through press, pr and marketing.  The main income generators are the hiring of the spaces to the corporate sector for corporate hospitality and meetings and through fundraising activities.  The Events Department is currently generating nearly £1 million pa from hiring out the spaces and through corporate membership.  This amounts to approx 75 evening events a year.

The success of the Development and Marketing Department will enable the Collection to increase its services to the visitor, increase the number of visitors and continue the excellent conservation and curatorial programme.

The events department is responsible for an annual income target through event hire and corporate membership, and excellent delivery of Wallace Collection events e.g. exhibition openings and fundraising events.  The events department comprises of three staff, the Head of Events and two events officers.

The Head of Events manages the department and has key responsibility for the marketing of the department; securing the income target and developing strategies to sustain or increase the income.
