Deputy Head of Events - Two Temple Place

Deputy Head of Events

Full time – 37.5hrs a week

Salary - £40,000 permanent contract.

25 day annual leave plus bank holidays and discretionary Christmas closure.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced events professional to join our small and high performing team as Deputy Head of Events. Working closely with our Head of Events, you’ll be an integral part of the team involved in all aspects of venue hire including, but not limited to, enquiry handling, supplier management, marketing activities, financial reconciliation and delivery of exceptional events. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced events professional, looking for increased responsibility in a unique heritage setting, to join a friendly, supportive and highly dedicated team.

About Two Temple Place

Two Temple Place is a dazzling architectural gem in central London, built in 1895 by William Waldorf Astor, the world’s richest man and part of a complex historic dynasty. Astor spared no expense in employing the greatest craftsmen of the day, and Two Temple Place is a joyful architectural fantasia. We are owned by The Bulldog Trust, and as part of our activities as a registered charity, we run a growing programme of cultural and community events and projects. To make this possible, our beautiful and utterly unique building is available for exclusive commercial hire, from stunning seated dinners and romantic weddings to elegant receptions and location hire.

Role Requirements

Minimum 7 years events ops and sales experience in a simialr historic or cultural setting delivering private, commercial and film hires.

Proven track record of achieving ambitious financial targets, with experience of pursuing leads, exploring new opportunities and negotiating complex bookings.

Liaise with all approved events’ suppliers, maintain strong industry relationships and ensure competitive and high-quality service. Maintain good relationships with local and events’ industry networks, and Council and statutory contacts.

Strategic input with the Head of Events regarding marketing activities, showcase opportunities and business development initiatives to help widen the reach and success of commercial opportunities.  

Excellent financial acumen and experience of raising commission invoices, chasing payments, keeping meticulous records and liaising with the Finance Director.

Support and maintain an overview of operational compliance, ensuring rigorous H&S procedures and risk assessments, reviewing statutory and licensing changes and analysing best practice;  

Experience of undertaking supplier tenders would be advantageous but not essential.
