An exciting opportunity has arisen for an event manager to join our small, friendly team in South London on a full-time basis. You will be required to coordinate private events including weddings, organising special events and undertake general administrative functions. Weekend working will be required during the main wedding season (April to September).
As an Event Manager, you will effectively manage and cross -sell the events spaces within your portfolio of venues.
Understanding your client’s requirements, you will communicate effectively with the onsite team ensuring the expectation is delivered whilst maintaining the excellent service that our company is known for. Together with the Events team you will handle all customer enquiries and ensure conversion targets are achieved on an ongoing basis.
The Candidate:
- Will have a minimum of 2 year’s previous experience in hospitality and events.
- Undertake viewings, put together proposals, produce contracts and function sheets to the exact requirements of Clients with the aim to exceed their expectations.
- Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal, the candidate will be highly positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic, brings a “can do” attitude with a proactive and flexible approach to their work.
- Project a professional image and working with a small team be able to manage time, be efficient and organised and prioritize workload effectively.
- Have an excellent working knowledge of computers, including excel.
- Emotionally resilient: able to manage a high workload and tight deadlines.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Full management and co-ordination of all events from enquiry to the day of event.
This will utilise effective diary management skills which will enable timely follow up of enquiries and completion of client contracts in line with SOPs.
- Identify potential business development opportunities
- Maintain strong relationships with the internal venue team to maximise revenue and optimise occupancy of the private dining space.
- Recognises opportunities to maximise revenue by up-selling and offering enhancements to create a better overall event.
- Follow up on client feedback after the event in a timely manner ensuring any negative feedback is effectively handled.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and related PC packages is essential for this role.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Ability to acquire and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
