Event Planner - Historic Royal Palaces

Home Palace:         Banqueting House, Kensington Palace and Kew Palace

Type of role:            Full time established

Salary:                      £30,670 per annum

Hours of word:       Average 36 hours per week, between Monday to Sunday to support our events programme

About the Role:

Historic Royal Palaces looks after some of the most iconic sites in the UK today including Hampton Court, the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We need a dedicated Event Planner to help maximise the commercial potential of Kensington Palace, The Banqueting House and Kew Palace.

This role is about communication as much as organisation. You’ll guide your portfolio of internal and external clients and suppliers through every aspect of the event planning process. Whether you’re focusing on sales, organisational detail, financial documents (or anything in between) your contact will always have accurate information and ultimate confidence in your ability.

About You:

You must be a self-starter and a quick learner with the ability to hit the ground running. Possessing the ability to work on your own initiative, you must be flexible and adaptable with an outgoing and pleasant personality. Someone who can work well in a team environment, you’ll also have excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills.

You’ll have proven experience of selling a venue and running events on an operational level. In-depth knowledge of the industry is essential and any insight into British history will stand you in good stead. Microsoft and database management skills will be required, and you also realize the importance of good teamwork.

Finally, you must be prepared to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as and when the events schedule requires it.
