Events Executive - HM Tower of London

HM Tower of London

Permanent

Salary  - £27,026

Days/Hours of work

Full Time - 36 hours per week. Please note that some late evening, weekend and Bank holiday working will be required for this role

About the role

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

We currently have an immediate vacancy in the Commercial Events team for an Events Executive based at HM Tower of London.

Reporting to the Commercial Events Manager, you will be joining a very busy team whose main responsibilities are maximising income while ensuring the palace, its residents and day visitors are not detrimentally affected by our activities. A friendly and efficient team that consistently produces events to delight our clients and bring them back for more, we are seeking a like-minded individual with a passion for history and the Tower.

You’ll be involved in liaising with potential clients, showing them around the Tower of London, agreeing the details of their function and negotiating the costs and contract details with them. You’ll manage a range of events to ensure they run without a hitch, delivering the very highest standard of customer service.

Your attendance at some events will also be required as you will be responsible for ensuring that all details of the event are in place on the day of the event and that all the client's requirements are met.

This will inevitably involve some overtime, occasional weekend, bank holiday and late evening working.

About you

You must be a dedicated individual with strong experience in the events industry who is used to dealing with suppliers, working with catering companies and using diary systems such as Kinetix.

You must be a self-starter and a quick learner with the ability to hit the ground running. Possessing the ability to work on your own initiative, you must be flexible and adaptable with an outgoing and pleasant personality. Someone who can work well in a team environment, you’ll also have excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills.
