Head of Event Design (Full Time) – Pinstripes and Peonies

Reports to: Creative Director

Line Manages: Head of Wedding Design, Senior Event Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Event Design to work in our Vauxhall Studio full time, supporting our busy team and heading up the Design Team.  We are experts in events and wedding floristry and we are looking for a Head of Event Design with a creative eye who can help us continue our enviable reputation as one of the best events florists working in the market and who can keep us growing fiscally and creatively.  We are looking for someone with experience in the events industry as well as a strong sales background.

Office Management

  • Tracking lieu and holiday days for all staff.
  • Point of contact for external IT support.
  • Setting up all requirements for new starters.
  • Managing the process of new hires (job descriptions, advertising, interviews).
  • Assisting the Creative Director as required (diary management, event management, purchasing).
  • Booking taxis and couriers.
  • Purchasing.

Event Sales

  • Tracking all enquiries, confirmed and promotional events.
  • Taking enquiries and creating bespoke proposals based on a clients brief.
  • Ensuring the flowers inbox is managed and organised.
  • Ensuring that all enquiries are tracked and chased.
  • Compiling confirmation paperwork.
  • Invoicing and chases.
  • Proactively seeking new opportunities.
  • Taking card payments.
  • Key account management.

Event Management

  • Delivering and setting up events where required.
  • Ensure that the floristry team have all details for events.
  • Overseeing the Studio to ensure that all events are correct and on time.
  • Overseeing the weekly logistics meeting.
  • Ensuring that the warehouse team have all the information that they require.
  • Ensuring that all staff are briefed on events.
  • Being ahead of the current week to see potential logistics issues.

Marketing

  • Creating marketing collateral.
  • Ensuring that all social media platforms have regular content and are P&P guidelines.
  • Attend promotional events.
  • Filter promotional event requests.
  • Updating website content.
  • Writing newsletter content.
  • Building and implementing marketing strategy.

Management

  • Line managing the Senior Event Designer and Head of Wedding Design.
  • Pastoral care of floristry and warehouse teams.

Venue Management

  • Creating reports for each venue in the P&P portfolio based on sales and enquiries.
  • Meeting regularly with venues to ensure that P&P are exceeding all expectations.
  • Compiling and filing venue tenders.
  • Proactively reaching out to new venues.
  • Organising relationship building events with venues.

Hires

  • Building the hire of all kit in the P&P portfolio. (In progress).
  • Marketing and advertising the hire kit.
  • Adding to website.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Creative flair
  • Proactive and reactive sales experience
  • Computer literacy skills essential (Microsoft Office Package)
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure with a proactive attitude.
  • Experience of managing a small team.
  • Knowledge of London venues.
  • Strong sense of budgeting.
  • Passionate about the events industry,
  • A presentable, Client-facing individual who can fit with a fun and exciting company.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated individual.
  • Excellent eye for detail and high standards of delivery.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Understanding of marketing principals and social media strategy.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends where required.
  • Full clean driving licence.
