Royal Albert Hall presents Young Producers

Are you interested in a career in the music industry? If so, the Royal Albert Hall’s Young Producers scheme is for you.

Following our first ever Young Producers scheme earlier this year, we’re looking for a new group of passionate 18-25 year olds to take part in the 2018/19 programme. This unique programme will offer you the exclusive opportunity to organise and curate a series of events at the Hall in some of our spaces beyond the main stage.

As a Young Producer, you’ll be given a budget, support and guidance to help bring your event ideas to life. Through a series of fortnightly workshops with Hall staff and other professionals, you will gain invaluable experience in putting on events; from scheduling and marketing to event management and artist liaison.

You will mainly be programming the Hall’s Elgar Room, a world-class and incredibly flexible performance space that has made a name for itself on the independent venue circuit. The Hall’s former group organised two sold out events in spaces around the Hall featuring a blend of music, fashion and more.

Our Young Producers alumni have gone on to work in various areas of the industry, from events management to radio production, and they have even gone on to further collaborate on their own events.

This is the perfect opportunity to showcase your creativity and step into the creative industries. What are you waiting for?

  • Applications must be received by midday on Monday 3 September 2018
  • We will invite a small number of applicants to interview on Tuesday 18 September 2018
  • Successful places will be confirmed by Friday 21 September 2018

APPLICANT CRITERIA:

  • You must be aged 18-25 as of 3 September 2018
  • You must be able to commit to the programme schedule from late September 2018 – early April 2019
  • You must be interested in a career in the creative industries and specifically putting on live music events
  • Passion for the arts is essential
  • Previous experience of the Music Industry (formal/informal) will be an advantage
  • Degree holders may apply but this is not a pre-requisite
  • If you require financial assistance with travel expenses to attend any meetings, the Young Producers Scheme will provide up to £10 per meeting
