Royal Albert Hall presents Young Producers Programme

Are you interested in a career in the music industry? If so, the Royal Albert Hall’s Young Producers scheme may be for you.

We’re looking for a new group of passionate 18-25 year olds to take part in the 2019/2020 programme. Those successful will get the exclusive opportunity to organise and curate a series of events at the Hall, in some of our spaces beyond the main stage.

As a Young Producer, you’ll be given a budget, support and guidance to help bring your event ideas to life. Through a series of regular workshops with Hall staff and other professionals, you will gain invaluable experience in putting on events; from programming and marketing to event management and artist liaison.

You will mainly be programming events for the Hall’s Elgar Room, a world-class and incredibly flexible performance space. The Elgar Room has welcomed artists such as Ezra Collective, Lowkey, Kate Tempest, and Laura Mvula, hosting a wide range of events including film screenings, live music, children’s DJ dance parties and more.

This is the perfect opportunity to showcase your creativity and learn from experts in a world famous performance venue. What are you waiting for?

  • Applications must be received by midday on Monday 9 September 2019

  • We will invite a small number of applicants to interview on Monday 23 September 2019

  • Successful places will be confirmed as soon as possible after the interview date

APPLICANT CRITERIA:

  • You must be aged 18 – 25 as of 9 September 2019.

  • You must be able to commit to the programme schedule from October 2019 – April 2020.

  • You must be interested in a career in the creative industries and specifically putting on live music events – the programme focusses on Programming, Marketing and Events Management.

  • A passion for the arts is essential.

  • Previous experience of the music industry (formal or informal) will be an advantage but the scheme is designed for those who are at the early stages of their career.

  • You must be willing to work collaboratively with others. The regular meetings are not designed to be lessons or lectures; the learning is focussed on the planning process and working as a whole group.

  • We particularly encourage individuals currently not in formal education to apply; those currently studying, or who are degree holders, are also welcome to apply.

  • If you require financial assistance with travel expenses to attend any meetings the Young Producers Scheme will provide up to £10 in travel expenses.
