Travel Designer – Full Time - Finest Meetings

Salary:                                    £20k – £25k

Finest Journeys is a destination management company serving its partner US based tour operator and others internationally with luxury tours for individual and group travellers in Britain and Europe. Our newly created MICE division – Finest Meetings – delivers innovative incentive programmes and meetings & events management in UK and Ireland to international corporate clients. We are expanding our travel sales and reservations team in our Worcester office to handle our ambitious growth plans

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is extremely diverse and will be involved in all areas of the business from product contracting to reservations and sales, through to product delivery. The role involves extensive coordination and booking of travel arrangements, event management, negotiating with local suppliers, customer service and liaison plus accurate data entry. 

Building strong relationships with your suppliers, group and individual travel clients and ensuring that their trip or events are successfully delivered, you will provide detailed itineraries, with meticulous attention to detail. 

The ideal candidate for this role will be commercially aware and be well travelled within Europe and a naturally proactive, quick thinker.  You will be a superb rapport builder and approachable with a fabulous telephone manner, used to working in an upmarket/luxury environment. You will need to be systems savvy as you will be using MS Office, CRM and in-house reservations systems. 

Finest Meetings will add exciting opportunities to demonstrate creative flair in event planning and perfect project delivery.

An experienced travel professional who can play a role in seizing opportunities to grow the business

  • Develop strong personable relationships with key contacts.

  • Keep up to date with product and industry information and develop an intimate knowledge of the products and services the company offers.

Skills required:

  • European travel industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Previous sales and relationship building experience
  • Sound understanding of commercial processes
  • Excellent organisational, planning and administrative skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Results orientated
  • Excellent IT skills

Desirable criteria:

  • Event management and planning experience
  • Second European language skills
  • Clean driving license
