ArcelorMittal Orbit

Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - 15:45
This October half term when the sun goes down, the thrill levels will go up at the UK’s most exciting viewing platform, the ArcelorMittal Orbit. Experience the ultimate adrenaline rush with twilight abseiling on the UK’s highest freefall abseil, late night rides on The Slide, the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide, and breath-taking sunset and night time views of up to 20 miles across London.

Old and young thrill seekers alike can enjoy zooming high into the clouds and watching as the sun sets behind some of London’s most famous landmarks. Spend time with your family exploring the city through stunning floor to ceiling windows or with innovative and interactive touchscreens that allow you to get even closer to the view. Or why not brave the outside observation walkway suspended 262ft above the ground and watch as the stars start to illuminate iconic sights including Wembley Stadium, St Paul’s Cathedral and Canary Wharf as well as the world-famous sporting venues of London 2012.

And what goes up, must come down! Enjoy the gentle descent of the 455 steps that wind their way around the sculpture, experience the thrill of The Slide or brave the rush of the 262ft freefall abseil – or why not try all three!

Adrenaline hunters from eight to 88 can brave a whole new experience on The Slide with twilight and late night rides. Plunge feet first into the night on the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide and travel at speeds of up to 15mph through the gentle curves, thrilling drops and tight turns that weave around the ArcelorMittal Orbit 12 times.

And for the bravest thrill seekers, an exhilarating descent from 262ft awaits on the UK’s highest freefall abseil. Hold your breath as you step over the edge of the ArcelorMittal orbit’s iconic red steel and watch as London lights up beneath your feet as the sun sets and the stars illuminate your journey to the ground.
