BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly

Friday, March 20, 2015 - 18:45

London, 11 March 2015: BAFTA 195 Piccadilly, the home of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, is delighted to announce its very first Pin Drop event with internationally acclaimed author William Boyd, whose bestselling works include Any Human Heart, The New Confessions, Waiting for Sunrise, as well as the latest James Bond novel, Solo. The event will take place on the evening of Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Guests will be able to enjoy a drinks reception on arrival followed by the author reading one of his short stories live to an audience in the venue’s iconic David Lean Room. Following the reading there will be a Q&A and an opportunity to discuss the story and the author’s work. “Pin Drop is a wonderful and rare conception. It provides us with a special opportunity to celebrate the short story on its own unique terms. The perfect antidote to the sound- bite culture,” states William Boyd.

Hailed by GQ as London’s best offering that enriches minds rather than damaging livers, this event is a must for anyone who likes the spoken word with stories narrated by bestselling authors in one of London’s most inspiring locations. Pin Drop presents William Boyd at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly Wednesday 1 April 2015
7.00pm with the drinks reception from 6:15pm
