In a venue with many grand and impressive event spaces, Guildhall’s Chief Commoner’s Parlour offers a more intimate event setting. Able to accommodate up to 24 guests around its large oval table, the open fireplace and ornate features offer a warm, friendly and charming space in which to host a lunch, dinner or board meeting.
Wherever you look in the Chief Commoner’s Parlour you will see character – from the glistening chandelier to the detailed stain glass windows featuring images from the natural world. The furniture itself has its own appeal, with the original service bell still on the table. This is, however, sadly no longer operational!
Adjoining the light and inspiring Old Library, the Chief Commoner’s Parlour is also a perfect additional space to support larger events. As a breakout space, VIP room or green room, the former librarians office offers total privacy in close proximity to the larger event spaces at Guildhall. The added benefit of a secluded ante-room and traditional staircase from one of our three event entrances offers privacy and discretion when required.
A charming space, the Chief Commoner’s Parlour is a sparkling gem in Guildhall’s event spaces. The dark wooden ceiling with intricate gold gilding offers warmth and finesse and secures the space’s position as a beautiful and attractive venue in which to host an array of intimate events.
