The Royal College of Physicians’ Dorchester Library houses one of the most significant collections of rare books in the world and is a unique setting for conferences, receptions and dinners.

In the 17th century, the RCP’s library was regarded as the country’s most important library of learning outside Oxford and Cambridge. Today, it provides an enchanting backdrop for modern events.
The library contains over 50,000 printed items dating from 1471 to the present day. The collection encompasses books, journals (including complete runs of the BMJ and Lancet), tracts and pamphlets, a full record of RCP publications, and biographies of medical figures.
The Dorchester Library is a versatile room ideal for drinks receptions of up to 250 people, dinners for 120 and meetings and conferences for up to 200 people.
