The Members Dining Room is the largest and most versatile space in the House of Commons. This impressive room is adorned with beautiful flock wallpaper, wooden relief sculptures and fascinating paintings. The ornate Royal coat of arms sits proudly above the main entrance signifying the connection of the Monarchy to Parliament. This symbolism is also apparent in the first know painting of Parliament, ‘The House of Commons in session,’ by Peter Tillemans c. 1709, where the arms of Queen Anne are shown above the Speaker’s chair.
