The stunning Queen’s Drawing Room at Hampton Court Palace, is the epitome of beauty.
With painted ceilings and surroundings by Antonia Verrio, it depicts Queen Anne surrounded by a host of personified virtues. The Queen is portrayed as Justice, with scales in one hand and a sword in the other. Above her, holding a crown, are Neptune and Britannia, representing her dominion over sea and earth.

Queen Anne was the first sovereign of Great Britain, it was under her rule that Scotland and England united in the Act of Union of 1707. She was also the last monarch from the House of Stuart.
The room looks out onto the East Front Gardens, or ‘The Great Fountain Garden’. William III and Mary II (1689-1702) created the Great Fountain Garden on the East Front to complement their elegant new baroque palace. Their gardener, Daniel Marot, created a garden containing 13 fountains and planted two radiating avenues of Yew trees in the fashionable form of a goose foot.
This view from the floor to ceiling windows in Queen’s Drawing Room adds even more opulence and beauty, making the room the ideal location for a licenced wedding ceremony for up to 120 guests – the picture-perfect wedding location.
