Bubble Food

Bubble are always developing new experiences in order to create compelling and memorable events. The atmospheric Candlelight Chronicles took guests on a candlelit epicurean tour through historic Guildhall, London.

Guests were greeted with drinks and provided with their own individual lanterns before setting off to the Old Library where they encountered a ‘Gladiator’, and learnt how the building was built on the site of the largest Roman amphitheatre in the UK. After enjoying some Bubble fish and chips on customised edible newspaper and Baked celeriac, almond, cherry, gold leaf, the group moved onto the Chief Commoner’s Parlour. This charming room was set up as an elaborate banquet, hosted by the ‘Toastmaster’ from Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee Banquet (in 1897), where guests sat to enjoy a glass of wine and Heritage carrots, radish, kumquat marmalade, brown butter mayonnaise topped with herbs from a bespoke party popper.

The tour moved on to the Print Room where they met ‘Sir Horace Jones’, the architect who designed Guildhall’s impressive Library and enjoyed bowl food such as Lamb fillet mole, sweet potato, coriander and Beetroot kudzu gnocchi, chard, red cabbage ketchup. Following this, the group encountered a ‘Tavern Man’, who was escaping from the Great Fire of London, prior to arriving at the Great Hall where they witnessed an account of the trial of Lady Jane Grey and her husband, Guildford Dudley, which was held in the hall in 1553. Guests enjoyed Skyfall cocktails with canapes such as Tuna tartare, pineapple, wasabi, tobiko, tapioca wafer, Truffle Hunting, Pumpkin and sage tortellini and Beetroot discs, gorgonzola, onion jam, micro salad, whilst viewing the space’s many fascinating sculptures in this uniquely intimate setting.

The Gunpowder smoked quail consommé and fighter pilot moustache station greeted guests in the Livery Hall where an ‘air raid volunteer’ urged everyone to help put out the fires created by the Blitz. Guests were spooked at the final stop on the tour, by a ‘dead woman’ who emerged from the walls of the Crypts, but regained their composure to enjoy Parmesan bonbons, black truffle emulsion and a vintage glass of Port.

The tour concluded in the Crypts were Bubble’s bar served Espresso Martinis and miniature bowl food desserts including Chocolate ganache, cherries, rum and raisin sabayon, duchy buttons and Pistachio and green tea parfait, black sesame, yuzu.
