Christmas 2025 at Chiswick House & Gardens

November 2025

Visit Chiswick House & Gardens for a spectacular 2025 Christmas, featuring a lavish ‘Twelfth Night of Christmas’ experience that invites guests to explore the 18th-century historical house and party, in spirit, with Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire.

This unique festive installation, a collaboration with live entertainment specialists Underbelly and heritage site curators CLW Event Design, will run from Friday November 21 to Sunday January 4. It will see the interior of Chiswick House transformed into an 18th-century Christmas wonderland, inspired by the 1780 carol ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ and by the rich Georgian history of Chiswick House itself.

Packed with opulently-themed rooms, peep chambers and festive tableaux, ending in a sumptuous visual banquet, the event imagines a decadent party hosted by Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, one of Chiswick House’s most notorious former residents.

Younger visitors will also be able to pay a visit to Santa’s Grotto, with Father Christmas taking up residence in a beautifully dressed 18th-century Georgian sitting room from Saturday November 29  to Wednesday December 24.

Chiswick House Christmas Shop, located within the House itself, will be open for the duration of the event, selling a range of curated gifts for all ages, along with art, souvenirs, cards, decorations and Chiswick House-inspired goodies.

Art-lovers of all ages are invited to visit the new on-site artist studios on Saturday December 6 for an Artist Studios Open Day, meeting the resident artists, discovering their work, and taking part in family-friendly arts and crafts workshops.

Opened in May 2025, and created from refurbished back-of-house areas, the Artist Studios are home to a vibrant creative community of artists, including painters, textile specialists, jewellery-makers, sculptors and photographers.

For three long weekends in December (Friday 5 to Sunday 7; Friday 12 to Sunday 14 and Friday 19 to Wednesday 24 December) visitors will be able to explore a special Christmas Duck Pond Market, taking place outside the house and boasting a range of artisanal Christmas treats and crafts, and unique gifts.

The popular hand-crafted Chiswick House Christmas Wreaths, created with foliage sourced sustainably from the gardens and woodlands of Chiswick House & Gardens, will be available to purchase from December 1. The wreaths, available while stocks last, offer an environmentally-friendly, air mile-free and uniquely beautiful alternative to mass-produced Christmas decorations, underlining the Trust’s commitment to environmental values.

Finally, winter visitors to Chiswick House are reminded to pay a visit to the on-site Colicci Café, where the warming treats on offer each day include delicious hot chocolates and a new savoury tart, made using fresh produce grown in the Chiswick House Kitchen Garden.

All profits from the Christmas programme will help Chiswick House & Gardens continue vital community and environmental work, looking after these beautiful gardens, and keeping them open for everybody, every day, for free.
