Beautiful summer events in our Walled Garden
Fulham Palace, a wonderful events venue in SW6 plays host to many a conference, wedding and party but this has got to be one of the loveliest times of year when we can use our exquisite Walled Garden for outdoor receptions, team building and parties!
The palace gardens are protected as an important historic landscape. Once enclosed by the longest moat in England, 13 acres remain of the original 36. The surviving layout is mainly 19th century with the earlier walled garden and some 18th century landscaping and this includes many rare trees.
Guests to a recent family celebration found themselves venturing along the red carpet lined with gas flambeaux and ducking down ever-so slightly to pass through the 18th century beautiful brick archway entrance, passing the incredibly restored glass house and knot garden with bold colours of red, blue and yellow to represent the coat of arms’ colours of Bishop Blomfield’s who is believed to have planted the knot garden originally in 1831 during the start of his residency at the palace.
Set within the gardens, guests were welcomed by our staff to a fantastic Raj tent display with beautiful furniture pieces set against the orchard and fruit trees.
The family worked with us to create a sublime canapé, bowl food menu and seafood bar with a very impressive display and tasty delights for the eyes and taste buds alongside an ice cold glass of Perrier Jouet or two! Mary Jane Vaughan did a fabulous job creating some beautiful pedestal arrangements in bright hues of amber and red, Effect Event installed some lovely coloured lighting for later in the evening when the sun began to set and lovely music set the scene by the fabulous musicians Blue Topaz.
A fantastic example of just one of the wonderful spaces to use for an event at Fulham Palace. Get in touch with our team to enquire about using the walled garden or any of the spaces at the palace – functions@fulhampalace.org or call our team on 020 7610 7162.
