Green Credentials - Twilight Trees offset all carbon for the second year in a row

Tuesday, May 25, 2021 - 14:45

Twilight Trees have become increasingly aware that as their business has grown, so has the carbon footprint they generate. As a result, they have made it their mission to offset any footprint made and to continue to think sustainably long into the future.

Twilight Trees have partnered with local company ‘Carbon Footprint’, who audit their footprint across all events, travel, shipping and the running of the business as a whole. Once the carbon emissions are quantified, it is offset and for every tree that Twilight Trees plants in the UK, a tonne of carbon will be saved in the Amazon Rainforest through avoided deforestation projects. As a result, for a second year in a row Twilight Trees are proudly carbon neutral.

“We have very little waste but as with everyone in the events industry, we have a significant travel carbon footprint which we are each responsible and accountable for” said Andrew Reid Thomas, Director of Twilight Trees.

Furthermore, the tree rental business operate a repair and reuse culture and whilst they maintain the highest of standard demanded from their products, every aspect of the tree is given the maximum lifespan.

Working with likeminded businesses and partnering with charities are all high on the priority list. This spring Twilight Trees partnered with Bond Street to promote the National Trust’s ‘Blossom Watch’ campaign aiming to plant and establish 20 million trees across over the next decade. Twilight Trees marked this by installing a stunning series of blossom trees on the iconic shopping street.

Sustainability is always a work in progress and it is something that Twilight Trees has committed to putting at the forefront of its activities by choosing to do the right thing and aiming to be better every year.
