The Party: 500 Years of Hampton Court Palace will be an evening of music and food through the ages, climaxing with a stunning son et lumiere show in the Privy Garden. There will be a programme of live period music in the Tudor and Queen’s Apartments and you can taste 500 years of food at pop-up food and drink bars. Visit the Tudor Kitchens to see meat being roasted on the fire then head to the Undercroft for a taste of Tudor pork. Upstairs in the Cartoon Gallery (over 12s only), a champagne and cocktail bar will be serving canapes that celebrate 500 years of feasting at Hampton Court. The sumptuous food offerings are being provided by Seasoned Events www.seasonedevents.co.uk
For the finale in the Privy Garden, we have commissioned 59 Productions www.fiftynineproductions.co.uk the projection artists for the Olympic 2012 Opening Ceremony, to create a unique projection mapped show with specially composed music telling the story of Hampton Court Palace’s 500 years, from the laying of the first stone of Wolsey’s palace in 1515 to the present day. The evening will end with spectacular fireworks over the palace.
