Introducing the team at Velvet Living

Tuesday, January 22, 2019 - 10:30

The Velvet Living team are refreshed and back, ready to kick-start 2019 with a bang!

Here are some of their top tips:

Event Manager and Group Coordinator Valeria says to “always have a comprehensive event pack on-site. I carry around everything from detailed floor plans to schedules, ensuring everything is covered. It makes me sleep well at night!”

Events Assistant Patricia’s top styling tip: “different textures in furniture set ups are a must for a luxe look, velvet sofas contrasted with metal low tables are always a winner.”

Holly, Events Assistant recommends: “always give yourself plenty of bar space… we say to allow around 2m per 50 people – no one likes waiting for a drink!”

Tim, Business Development Manager across Velvet Living and Velvet Entertainment: “London has a wealth of amazing venues from the historic to the quirky – be brave and contrast the venue style with your furniture, production and entertainment choices.”

Maurits van Rhede, DJ turned entrepreneur and the glue that holds Velvet’s offices in London, Cannes, Barcelona and Mallorca together introduces the newest team member, Daniela Semanova: “Daniela has come from VL Lounge in Mallorca to the London HQ. Her organisation and keen eye for detail will make her a huge asset in the Velvet Living office. I’m sure you’ll see her about a lot this year!”

Velvet Entertainment’s Top Picks:

Sam, Director of Velvet Living & Velvet Entertainment: “for a powerful, crystal clear sound, we have our discreet D&B speakers in white or black which can be used for music, speeches and more!”

Dan, Events Production Manager offers “the trusty wireless uplighter is a great value ambience-creator for any event. Combine wireless uplighters with more sophisticated event lighting for countless looks.”

Matt Anderson, Event Manager and co-runner of our French sister company Velvet Riviera has seen “so many enquiries here and abroad for fun, roaming acoustic acts like our Super Roams – they’re going to be a hit over the summer for sure.”

Warehouse and Transport & Logistic team observations:

Joey Kaznadji, Velvet Living Warehouse Manager noticed “I was organising the preparation of so much modular furniture over the Christmas rush – you lot still can’t get enough of it!”

Mario Lara, who heads up our Transport & Logistics team gave his thanks “to all of the drivers and crew who are essential in the smooth running of events, from setting up in listed venues to transforming rooms in minutes” – we couldn’t do it without you!

Anthony Bean, Quality Manager stated on a cold London day: “I’ve been checking that the Madera collection is in tip-top shape ready to go out this summer – and it’s got me looking forward to the warmer days!”

And finally, Velvet Entertainment Warehouse Manager Alessandro Goi contributed… “I’ve lost count how many reels of festoon lights I’ve checked ahead of all the summer parties!”
