Lavender Green Flowers

Monday, November 2, 2015 - 08:15

October has been extremely busy for the Event Industry. And with dinners and receptions very much in favour at UVL sites all over London, everyone at Lavender Green has been rushed off their feet. We love it! We love our workshops full of flowers; we love to see the vans filled with riots of colour; and we love working with our "very professional" colleagues installing all the components which make a fabulous event. More than anything we love adding the finishing touch with flowers and knowing the guests are about to experience a wonderful evening.

We continue to push the boundaries creatively, answering our clients ever challenging requirements, which this month have included bicycles, and wellies dressed with tumbling flowers in gardens we create in the sky! And fake ravens in bewitching designs at The Tower!

We have been lucky that for a number of years we have been involved in the prestigious and much anticipated annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards ceremony at the Natural History Museum. This year, with a slight change in brief, we put together a more modern look that utilised mirrored vases atop perspex plinths. Nature, however, is far from contemporary so using preserved foliage- which nature creates in weird and wonderful shapes and styles- our designs injected a natural and beguiling feel to throw the decoration back on brand. We worked closely with the full range of suppliers involved in the build up to the actual event, with the end result coming together flawlessly.

Just as the Autumn nights were drawing in we were busy decorating The Tower of London's historic White Tower for a champagne Reception with all the vibrancy which autumn can display. Our work brought aspects of the outside in through the use of rustic bark and earthy moss, oh and just a few Trees to really emphasise the overall look. Rich colours gave the arrangements an elegant and sumptuous feel set against the  strong majesty of the stone walls.

Also this month we were delighted to work alongside The Wedding Magazine on their 3rd Wedding Blog Awards at the spectacular Tower of London! Following the brief ‘white, crisp, modern’, tables were dressed with glossy mirrored troughs each brimming with a mass of textured Hydrangea. These were each brought to life by the warming glow of a beautiful glass lantern containing a base of petals, to create the perfect combination between sleek and soft romantic. Our elegant, yet fabulously impactful floral designs worked harmoniously with the stylish white décor of the Awards that took place in the New Armouries, giving a unique alternative to traditional wedding centrepieces!

At the traditional Foundling Museum, we had the pleasure of providing designs for a very special Wedding Anniversary. For this, we created stunning designs using the highest quality flowers, foliage and containers creating loose and floppy arrangements with a studied lack of structure and a more natural look and feel. Colours included autumnal shades in deep reds, pinks and purples using flowers such sedum, fountain grass, autumnal purple hydrangea, skimmia, wax flower, trailing amaranths, red jewel, miscanthus, astilbe, cotinus, astrantia and seasonal foliage to include trailing ivy.

Now in November, Christmas season arrives early at Lavender Green again, and the sparkly installations begin. Should you still be searching for your perfect Christmas tree, it’s not too late. Please send any enquiries to: info@lavendergreen.co.uk.
