Lavender Green Flowers

Tuesday, January 12, 2016 - 11:00

Happy New Year! – 2016 is finally upon us and everyone here at Lavender Green is eager to introduce some exciting, fresh ideas…It’s out with the old and in with the new!

We are particularly looking forward to the upcoming spring months where we have the opportunity to create striking, seasonal arrangements, not just using cut flowers, but incorporating planted bulbs such as delicate muscari, zesty narcissus and vibrant azaleas. See some upcoming trends from some of our design specialists below…

Lorissa says… “Geometric designs are a key 2016 trend that can add interesting, bold elements to an event space or private home alike. Translate this through floral designs by using strong shapes and structured arrangements. Combine hexagonal hardware with rigid plants for a modern industrialised look, or balance with a mass of wild flowers for a softer effect. Our favourite is the geometric take on the terrarium, to create a unique urban garden!”

Sophie says… ‘Don’t be afraid of colour! Enliven your events with vibrant and punchy colourful accents. Bursts of vivid yellows and citrusy lime greens are sure to blow away those Christmas cobwebs. Embrace the early spring and the warmer weather with dynamic designs with pops of purple amongst clean backgrounds for ultimate impact’

‘Mixing textures and natural tones with unexpected rich colours give an unusual twist on a loose and garden style,’ says Alice. ‘Introduce greens using moss and browns using succulents and twigs with the occasional burst of the early spring bulbs for a creative and contrasting look’
