Lavender Green Flowers

Sunday, August 21, 2016 - 15:15

August always seems to take Lavender Green Flowers by surprise! Not only are there very few corporate events, but staff take turns to go on well-deserved holidays. The result is a very quiet workshop - quite a change from the usual efficient bustle getting the job done for clients in a workspace brimming with flowers. Weekends do of course perk up everyone with beautiful wedding flowers prepared for brides.

The many hotels, marquees and venues LGF are visiting include the glorious V&A, Two Temple Place where, for the briefest of moments, one can pretend to live in a grand London home (!), the historical and relaxed Fulham Palace, the unique Leighton House and the magnificent, recently renovated 17th century Queen’s House in Greenwich.

Talking of weddings, Lavender Green Flowers has just finished preparing flowers for a big ‘wedding magazine’ photo shoot. Front cover, they hope, but they will have to see when the issue is published!

Speaking with colleagues and friends in catering, production companies and venues, they have realised that it’s not just florists which suffer from really late confirmations of jobs from clients - it’s becoming an industry norm. Furthermore, with no-one being able to predict what effect Brexit will have on their businesses, it is extremely encouraging for Lavender Green to be receiving so many enquiries for the autumn now that the summer lull is nearly over.

It seems that the V&A, Guildhall and the National Gallery are the hot ticket venues next month, and there is also great interest in holding events at both Tate Museums, The Royal Academy of Arts and the National Portrait Gallery. We really are blessed with such stunning, vibrant spaces in London.
