Lavender Green Flowers

Monday, May 25, 2015 - 21:15

May has been a real blockbuster of a month for Lavender Green with over 60 events thus far being graced by our green fingered, burly install team; gently hauling everything from enormous bronze artichokes into a stunning grass turfed Royal Hospital Chelsea to putting the finishing touches to a spectacular medieval banquet at the Tower Of London: Tankards filled with beautiful wild flowers sprawled down two long tables, intermittent with palatial gold rose bowls and twinkling antique nightlights. All topped off with the State Apartments being dimly lit with Ivy wound storm lanterns gave the evening a real romanticised Tudor feel – without all the casual beheadings of course!

The Chelsea Flower Show is a seminal event for the horticulturally inclined so naturally Lavender Green have been in attendance, scouting for inspiration from the world’s top florists to ensure our designs are both on trend and seeking muse for what lies ahead! It was not all hobnobbing and gawping though as we were fortunate enough to once again transform the title sponsors hospitality marquee into this year’s theme – a quintessentially British ‘writers retreat.’ Influenced by their own commissioned ‘garden retreat,’ the library was created to house the same wild English flower planted in the gardens and reflected an indoor get away for those lucky enough to be invited to the marquee.

It’s not only an honour to be recognised at such a prestigious event but also barrels of fun for our team working in such beautiful surroundings and blessed by mostly clear skies – with the occasional clap of thunder though.. But would it truly be a typical British event without such fickle weather?

Lastly we have another, fairly large addition to the arsenal of stock here at the LG HQ which are absolutely perfect for the summer. With much deliberation as to what to call them, and with absolutely no worthy entries what-so-ever, we have decided to imaginatively name them……….. ‘wooden tree poseur tables.’  Despite the lack of a flowery name these gorgeous tables have proved very popular already and will be making an appearance at many of our summer events so keep your eyes peeled!
