Lavender Green Flowers - Chelsea in Bloom 2022

Monday, May 23, 2022 - 09:45

Lavender Green is delighted to again be part of Chelsea in Bloom 2022, taking place 23-28 May 2022. Due to the pandemic, 2021’s Chelsea in Bloom show was in the Autumn, just a few weeks after Lavender Green Flowers opened the doors to their new store on the Kings Road. With their focus firmly set on fitting the store and moving, they only had 2.5 weeks to prepare for the show, lots of brain storming sessions later they decided that their take on the theme of Grand Voyages, would be to turn the whole store in to a giant ship.

They made and hung giant portholes filled with flowers across the windows, included textures inspired by seaweed, installed a huge figurehead adorned with individual flower heads and even encourage a flock of parrots to join them in the tree outside!

They all had such fun designing, creating and installing this display, and it was most definitely worth it! Chelsea in Bloom attracts thousands of people to the area every year, the store had a constant buzz around it for the 5 days and one of their favourite things to do was to just stand outside and listen to the incredible comments from passers-by.

With such a short lead time, they simply couldn’t have done it without the help of their dear friends Wise Productions, who they are really looking forward to working with again this year.

After a long, emotional but truly amazing week, they were blown away by the judges’ comments at the awards ceremony on the Friday evening and received not only GOLD, but BEST FLORAL DISPLAY too!

This year for Chelsea in Bloom, Lavender Green have chosen to play host to The Crown Jewels in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. With Royal security present and defensive architecture installed and filled with an abundance of beautiful seasonal flowers and plants that have taken inspiration from the tones of jewels themselves. They are thrilled to yet again to add colour and fun to the Kings Road for what they are sure to be a great celebration of all things iconic to Britain.

In an effort to encourage a younger generation of flower enthusiasts, Lavender Green have invited over 100 local school children to create a display of British wildflower made entirely from recycled materials. These flowers will feature in store, taking further inspiration from The Tower of London Superbloom.

They look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the week, please do pop in to say hello if you’re nearby.
