Black History Month Talks offer a unique opportunity to uncover the legacies of Black Londoners, from the Tudors to the Windrush generation. These informative and inspiring talks are free of charge, providing insights into the significant impact that Black individuals have made on the capital’s history.

In addition, the LSS Gallery showcases the London Sugar and Slavery exhibition, revealing the city’s overlooked role in the transatlantic slave trade. Visitors can view two new artworks by British-Nigerian artist Caroline Chinakwe, which reflect on what it means to be ‘unapologetically’ Black in contemporary Britain. After the exhibition, don’t miss the Holding Emotions display—a contemplative space designed to help visitors process the complex feelings evoked by the gallery.

Join London Museum Docklands this October to celebrate and engage with Black history through thought-provoking talks and captivating exhibitions.
