London Venue Awards

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 - 16:45

The much anticipated London Venue Awards were held on 20th October at The Brewery.

Acknowledging the very best in London’s event and live marketing venues, supplier and affiliate organisations, the London Venue Awards are acknowledged as a benchmark of quality and best practice.

The winners underline London’s position as one of Europe’s most creative, skilled and forward thinking destinations for the live events sector.  Nineteen categories were awarded and recognise historic and unique venues, new openings and suppliers who help bring taste, colour and flair to many events.

The UVL member venue winners are:

Best Sporting Venue for Events – Lord’s Cricket Ground

Best Christmas Party Venue – Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe

Best London Event Venue – less than 500 attendees – Wellcome Collection

Most Versatile London Venue (1000 attendees or less) – RIBA

Most Versatile London Venue (over 1000 attendees) – Somerset House

Congratulations also go to Natual History Museum, Science Museum and RSA House who took home silver in their categories.

Claire Wormsley, director of GCN Events, comments, “The London Venue Awards are highly anticipated and both fought and sought after; they have become a differentiator and a definer of quality and best practice.  We are delighted that so many have entered this year to celebrate their achievements with their peers, and our congratulations go to all of the winners and runners up in what has been the toughest London Venue Award competition on record”.

Tracy Halliwell MBE, Director of Business Tourism & Major Events at London & Partners, adds, “London constantly amazes us in terms of the variety of venues, expertise and people working hard to achieve success, and these awards are no different. It’s a competitive market, but industry peers coming together to champion each other’s achievements represents the best of the business and we wholeheartedly support that. We would like to extend our congratulations to all the winners.”
