The Royal College of Music (RCM) has recently launched its state-of-the-art Performance Simulator, an innovative technological marvel poised to revolutionise the way musicians prepare for the stage.
The Performance Simulator is designed to replicate the conditions of a live setting, complete with a virtual audience, realistic acoustics, and adjustable lighting.
The simulator incorporates advanced audiovisual technology to create a lifelike experience. It features high-definition screens and surround sound speakers that project the image and sound of a live audience, reacting in real-time. Additionally, the system can simulate different types of venues, from intimate recital halls to grand stages, allowing students to experience a variety of performance environments.
In addition to being used across RCM activities the Performance Laboratory can be hired for bespoke training, with clients including the Imperial College Business School, Football Association, and the United Nations Development Programme.

Choose between the Foundling Museum’s contemporary studio rooms or our elegant historic rooms – the Picture Gallery alone can seat up to 100 delegates for conferences, whilst the Court Room offers an intimate setting for smaller meetings, or a break-out space.
Our meeting spaces are equipped with AV equipment, including a 72-inch screen or projector and screen, lectern with a built-in microphone, WiFi and 360 Owl camera and microphone for hybrid meetings.

Stylish Symposiums at the Soane
The Seminar Room at Sir John Soane’s Museum is the perfect space for away days, meetings, seminars, presentations, and conferences. The room is flooded with natural light with large windows looking out to the green
space of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, and the walls are hung with beautiful paintings and drawings by or associated with the architect Joseph Michael Gandy, Soane’s chief draughtsman and the artist responsible for the many stunning watercolours of Soane’s various projects.
The room can accommodate up to 30 people theatre-style or 16 people in a boardroom layout. Venue Hire includes a screen, projector, and flipchart, a private entrance, and a dedicated staff member. Guests can book a private tour of the Museum to enhance their event. This is an ideal brain break for long meetings and can make events held in the Seminar Room truly memorable.

On top of the rich scientific heritage found at the Ri, our spaces are also fitted with plenty of technology to cater to all your event needs included in the room hire cost. Our audio-visual (AV) systems are included in the room hire fee, and span from a full projector, screen and 10 available microphones in the Theatre, to video conferencing and tabletop mics in the Sunley and Speaker’s rooms. The Ri is home to some of the most influential discoveries in the history of science, many of which can be seen in the Faraday Museum which is free to browse before, after, or even during your event.
You can then explore the latest developments in technology in our Theatre by staying around for a talk from our public programme, where we invite leading scientists into the Theatre twice a week to discuss their research.
