Natural History Museum has strengthened its venue hire team with two new appointments, ahead of the Museum’s momentous relaunch of its main event space Hintze Hall on 14th July.

Joining the team is Gavin Bevan who has recently been welcomed to the Museum as operations manager, bringing over a decade of hospitality and events experience including six years delivering conferences, private banqueting and match day hospitality at the Kia Oval. His responsibilities will be to ensure a smooth collaboration between clients, accredited suppliers and the museum, resulting in world-class event delivery.

Bevan explained: “I will never forget the first time I walked up the entrance steps into the grand Hintze Hall, it’s such an iconic venue so when the opportunity arose to deliver events of such a high calibre in such unique spaces I grabbed it with both hands. I’m ready to sink my teeth into a new challenge, and couldn’t have wished for a more exciting time to join this extraordinary venue and events team.”

Susie Williamson, will join Bevan as the second operations manager, bringing with her five years of events experience within the heritage industry, having worked with the National Trust and the Royal Geographical Society. Susie’s experience ranges from organising family-friendly events to holding high-profile, logistically complex events for the likes of BBC Newsnight, Vogue and AGA in listed buildings.

Williamson comments: “Like a lot of our event guests that walk through the magnificent entrance to the Museum, the venue has many fond memories for me. It inspires me with its fascinating history and dynamic architecture in each space. It’s a thrilling time to be joining the team, not only with a new major exhibit in Hintze Hall for the first time in 35 years, but with our ‘Talks and Tours’ packages and new in-house Christmas party packages available, event guests have even more experiences available to make their special occasion truly unforgettable.”

Robert Wetherell, head of venue hire adds “I’m delighted to welcome Gavin and Susie to the team at this hugely exciting time for the Natural History Museum. Expanding our expert events team is testament to the growth in our events delivery, following a wealth of notable changes to our world-class event spaces. Hintze Hall will be offering guests a completely new experience under the life-sized Blue Whale skeleton diving from the ceiling, our smaller gallery spaces offering more intimate private dining surrounded by our incredible collections and now bespoke exhibition experiences are available to create once-in-a-lifetime memories during your special occasion.”
