Monday, August 13, 2018 - 16:30

GSP Venues at the Saatchi Gallery has appointed Dean Drury as the new business development director for the contemporary arts and culture venue on London’s King’s Road.

Having spent 10 years with the Royal Opera House, Dean will be responsible for proactively targeting new clients and business as well as driving revenue across the venue, which is managed by GSP Venues. Ensuring the continued growth and development of events at the Saatchi Gallery, Dean will also focus his attention on building new relationships with aspiring brands and corporate events to the iconic site.

Dean brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role with over 25 years within hospitality, commercial events and business management positions. Along with his understanding of commercial operations, developed while working for London’s largest venues, securing high net worth clients and brand events, Dean’s personality and expertise will contribute to the exciting calendar of events currently being curated for next year and beyond.

Dean began his career at The Berkley Hotel before entering the world of events at Sadler's Wells, following his passion for the creative and performing arts. Dean has honed his reputation and industry connections ever since by engaging the communities he works in and making the venues more accessible to event professionals and bookers.

Commenting on his appointment, Dean Drury said: “I’ve been an admirer of the Saatchi Gallery for many years, from their exhibits to the production and styling of their event spaces, so when the opportunity to join this fabulous venue arose I couldn’t say no. Knowing the exciting proposition we have for the events industry was a real fillip, combined with its iconic status within the London and global contemporary arts scene I am looking forward to replicating this for the events and production taking place in this corner of the capital.”

Jules Stevenson, owner of GSP Venues added: “We are delighted to have Dean as part of our excellent and progressive business development team, his direction and passion will only enhance the success and diversity we will bring to the gallery’s events. His enthusiasm and drive set him apart and we are very much looking to the future by bringing him on board.”
