Nicky’s leap of faith into new fundraising role

The sky’s the limit for one senior figure at Seasoned who has shown dedication to her new role as a charity trustee with a promise to jump out of a plane.

Nicky Pratt, who is Head of Sales and Marketing at the specialist caterer, is one of four new trustees to be appointed at the Crown Foundation, the registered charity of Seasoned’s parent company, Crown Partnership.

Determined to continue the Foundation’s £500,000 fundraising success, Nicky has committed to doing a skydive to help raise funds for its two chosen charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Mind.

The team is already busy making lots of plans for fundraising events and initiatives to build on the charity’s 10-year success.

Nicky said: “I’m excited to be taking on a new challenge as a trustee for the Crown Foundation. We’ve already been talking about lots of ideas which will hopefully help us to raise a substantial amount of money for Macmillan and Mind.

“I’m hoping that my skydive will help to raise the profile of the two charities and generate support. It’s a bit nerve-wracking thinking about it, but knowing I’m doing it for a good cause will get me on that plane!”

All Crown Partnership staff have been encouraged to come up with their own fundraising ideas and will be given time off to complete them, if necessary. 

Crown Partnership Senior Partner Charles Beer said: “We very much welcome the new team of trustees and look forward to the events and activities they have planned. 

“The Foundation was set up to create a fun and engaging platform for team members to get involved in organised fundraising activities, or to arrange fun or challenging fundraising ideas of their own.

“In its 10-year history, whether through donations from Partnership companies or team fundraising activities of their own, so far we have raised £500,000 for charity and we look forward to building on the tremendous efforts of all those involved so far.

“If it raises money for these two amazing charities, then no idea is too small.

“Activities can be arranged with work colleagues, such as the famous Macmillan coffee mornings or once in a lifetime challenge like Nicky’s. We are really encouraging our staff and Partners to take time to think about how they and their fellow team members can raise funds and we hope everyone will get behind them in their efforts to do so.” 

Seasoned, which delivers Michelin-inspired menus at some of the UK leading venues, is part of the Crown Partnership, a portfolio of largely events, hospitality and catering providers, committed to environmental sustainability with an emphasis on innovation and an appetite for disruption.
