Pinstripes and Peonies

Wednesday, July 11, 2018 - 13:00

On Saturday 30th June, the sun was shining, the weather was sweet, and it was the perfect day for a white wedding (or four… and two parties… in all corners of London and beyond).

Whilst we could be here all day talking about all the beautiful flowers we delivered to Kensington Palace, the Tower of London, the Old Bailey or Hampton Court Palace, we’re guessing that as extremely busy events professionals you don’t have time for that. So, let us focus on just one stunning wedding in one stunning venue; The Garden Museum.

Guests were seated over two long tables for dinner in the Nave and treated to culinary delights from the Zafferano team. Being the Garden Museum, champions of British gardening, having a few flowers here and there just wouldn’t do. We created a full, luscious foliage garland using a mix of seasonal greenery to cover every inch along the centre of the table and drape elegantly from either end. Tucked amongst the foliage were terracotta pots holding aromatic herbs; and a collection of ornate bud vases each holding white or blush pink florals such as dahlias, sweet pea, astible and peonies. Twinkling candles and flickering tealights added the final touch.

Although the British summer is still going strong and we’re all still getting our much-lacked Vitamin D, flower wise we’re already starting to see our favourite summer varieties departing for another year. The genius of our Garden Museum design however is that it can be adapted for all seasons. We’re already imagining it with golden, Autumnal foliage mixed with warming red and orange florals. Or looking further ahead, including sprigs of holly and pine for erm, well, that festive period that we surely can’t mention when it’s 28 degrees outside!
