Pinstripes and Peonies

Tuesday, February 14, 2017 - 15:15

Seeing as this is Valentine’s Month and all about luurve, what better topic to chat about than weddings!  We have a pretty enviable reputation here at Pinstripes and Peonies for creating absolute gorgeous flowers for events and corporates.  Yet increasingly we are becoming known for our fabulous wedding flowers and it’s something we want to shout about…because we can!

Here at Pinstripes and Peonies HQ, we’ve been exploring the wonders of Spring, exploring new ways to excite brides over our wedding offering – exercising our creativity in our favourite medium – flowers.  From making new geometric shapes to playing with fabrics, we’re all about stretching that creative muscle!

We’ve spied, with our floral eye, a few key trends for brides for 2017.  The most influential being the Pantone Colour of 2017 announcement as ‘Greenery’.  Yep, literally, ‘Greenery’ – well that’s pretty ideal for us! We’ve seen a large increase in the number of requests for heavily foliaged bouquets and archways creating gorgeous natural tones across the industry.  This is such a great colour for brides, specifically bouquets as that sumptuous colour really pops in photos against the classical white gown.

As for other trends, our wonderful brides dictate the pace as ever.  Pale blush, nudes and greys all proving to remain popular as bridesmaid’s gown colours.  We think that ice blue alongside greys, crisp white and ivory tones are an absolute winner for 2017!  We are already seeing the continuing popularity of metallic and rose gold colourings in containers with blush toned blooms and geometric shapes such as terrariums still going strong alongside succulents which bring in that beautiful ‘Greenery’ tone.

We’re a pretty honest bunch here at Pinstripes and Peonies, we believe that it’s one of the attributes that has made us so successful.  We think that the most important thing for any bride and groom is that they absolutely love their flowers on the big day.  So, trends aside, we always say that flowers are an accessory that they’ll want to carry with confidence and if they love it, then that’s the one!
