Join Sir John Soane's Museum for an exploration of the Museum after-hours

May 2025

Kick off your Bank Holiday Weekend with a totally unique experience! On Friday, 23 May, join the amazing guides at Sir John Soane’s Museum for an exploration of the Museum after-hours. Wonder at Soane’s use of natural light to showcase the vast collection that he displayed throughout his remarkable home. Watch in awe as the sun sets over Apollo’s statue, the sarcophagus of Pharaoh Seti I, and countless other treasures.

Looking ahead to June, visitors to Sir John Soane's Museum will have a chance to see Richard Rogers: Talking Buildings. This exhibition will focus on high-tech architect Richard Rogers’ eight favourite projects from 1967 to 2020, including the Zip Up House, the Pompidou Centre, Lloyds of London and the Millennium Dome. Richard Rogers: Talking Buildings will open on 18 June.

There will also be a slate of Summer Twilight Tours to look forward to at Sir John Soane’s Museum.

The Season will begin on 20 June, with Twilight Tour: Pride Month Special. From a bust of Sappho watching over the Library-Dining Room, to objects purchased by Soane from the notorious William Beckford, described by his biographer as being ‘the most scandalous connoisseur of hedonism in the modern world’, their guides have uncovered fascinating hidden histories relating to queer lives and identities.
