January 2026
Somerset House’s Commercial Venue Hire team recently welcomed 50 key clients, agencies and partners to an intimate breakfast event in the Embankment Galleries to celebrate the launch of its new Private View Receptions package available throughout the run of Wayne McGregor: Infinite Bodies, a landmark exhibition marking the culmination of Somerset House’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The offer is a rare opportunity for event organisers and companies to impress up to 100 guests with exclusive, out-of-hours access to Wayne McGregor’s evocative exhibition within the iconic Embankment Galleries, alongside a breakfast or evening reception within the exhibition itself. Designed to elevate events, the experience combines world-class art with exceptional hospitality.

Somerset House brought the concept to life in collaboration with exclusive catering partner Zafferano, one of London’s foremost creative caterers, who devised a bespoke breakfast menu inspired by Wayne McGregor’s Prelude. Served at the launch event, the canapés translated choreography into flavour—from Borderline, a precise balance of smashed avocado, feta and heritage tomato on pumpernickel, to Aeon, where smoked salmon and brown butter crumpet met crème fraîche and Exmoor caviar. Each dish echoed themes of movement, rhythm and restraint, reflecting the progressive spirit at the heart of McGregor’s work.

The breakfast event was held in the Studio, which was set up to reflect the creative energy of the exhibition, with elegant tables and décor inspired by the themes of movement and technology. Before heading into Infinite Bodies, Dr Cliff Lawson, Director of Exhibitions at Somerset House and one of the curators of the show, gave guests an introduction to the exhibition and its key themes, encouraging guests to really explore and interact with the immersive works throughout the show. Highlights include Random International and Max Richter’s kinetic light installation - Future Self – which sees 10,000 LEDs respond to guests’ movements, creating a captivating interplay of shadow and technology.
Luci Sorrell, Head of Commercial Sales at Somerset House, commented: "We’re thrilled to introduce this Private View Reception package, which brings together Somerset House’s cultural programming and Zafferano’s exceptional catering. Due to the nature of exhibitions, we cannot always host receptions within the exhibition itself, so this is a real treat and not to be missed.
“We’ve already successfully hosted private events in the space and have seen strong interest for the remainder of the run. Our cultural programme is a real USP for us - clients increasingly want to experience something new and distinctive when they attend an event. This exhibition, which explores the body and movement through technology and AI, has been a hugely popular subject and a timely draw for our audiences. Combining private access to a world-class exhibition with bespoke menus in one of London’s most iconic spaces makes for an unforgettable experience."
