Lent art installation: Within the Light by Angela Glajcar

18 February - 3 April 2015 | Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, London SE1 9DA

This year, Southwark Cathedral's annual Lent art installation will feature German artist Angela Glajcar’s within the light. Angela Glajcar's installation within the light(© Stephen Brendgen, Monheim (DE)) Made up of several widths of glass fabric hanging one above the other, this large-scale installation forms a canopy from the base of the east end window to the choir stalls. As the incidental light of the windows is reflected by the translucent material, the shifts in light over the course of the day determine the atmosphere of the space.

A companion exhibition to the installation, entitled White, will be at The Andipa Gallery from 2 February – 7 March (162 Walton Street, London SW3 2JL, free entry), presenting an opportunity to view the artist’s smaller works.

The exhibition at Southwark Cathedral is open to the public, and admission is free.
