Summer at the Natural History Museum

Tuesday, June 21, 2022 - 16:30

It's a packed summer at the Natural History Museum with an array of events coming up in to mark the return of Dippy, the nation’s favourite dinosaur.

Dippy returns to their Museum home after a natural history adventure travelling around other Museums and galleries in the UK, inspiring curious dinosaur fans and nature champions all over the country.

Families with young children can join Waterhouse the mouse in his quest to learn all about Dippy in a short story session before the Museum opens to daytime visitors. The whole family can celebrate at Welcome Home Dippy, a special celebration event after hours when the Museum is closed.

For those who love solving a mystery, don’t miss Search for Dippy, the ultimate escape room-like game for crime-busters to enjoy!

Fancy something a bit more relaxed? Try one of the Museum’s yoga events, which take place in the stunning setting of Hintze Hall beneath Hope, the enormous whale skeleton plunging through Hintze Hall.

Find out more about what’s on at the Natural History Museum at nhm.ac.uk/whats-on. For regular Museum access to the free galleries, you must book your free entry ticket to the Museum in advance.

Plans are also in full swing for the Urban Nature Project. The Museum's five-acre site in South Kensington is being transformed into a welcoming, accessible and biologically diverse green space in the heart of London. The existing Wildlife Garden will be extended to double the area of native habitats within the grounds, providing a fabulous setting for the historic building.
