As part of the much-anticipated reopening of the Sainsbury Wing following the NG200 Bicentenary project, the National Gallery welcomes a brand-new culinary experience from acclaimed Italian chef Giorgio Locatelli and his wife Plaxy, in partnership with Searcys.

Opening on 10 May 2025, Locatelli will be an elegant 80-seat restaurant showcasing Giorgio’s celebrated Italian classics with a seasonal twist, perfect for both leisurely lunches and evening dining. On the ground floor, Bar Giorgio will offer a relaxed espresso bar serving rich Italian coffee and Giorgio’s irresistible maritozzi pastries.

Inspired by the art and history of the National Gallery, the menu will reflect Giorgio’s culinary expertise, blending Italian tradition with bold creativity. Set beneath Paula Rego’s stunning Crivelli’s Garden, painted specifically for this space, this exciting new addition to the National Gallery promises to be a 2025 highlight.
